Racing Career

Inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame in 2008, Carl Nafzger launched his training career in 1968 when he took out his trainer’s license after retiring from a successful career as a professional bull rider. His lifetime earnings have now surpassed the $50 million mark with two Kentucky Derby wins, in 1990 with Unbridled and in 2007 with Street Sense. Carl has won numerous awards during his training career, including the prestigious Eclipse Award for Outstanding Trainer in 1990.
